J. H. (“Jay”) Campbell, Jr

J. H. (“Jay”) Campbell, Jr. is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana. After graduation from Jesuit High School, he entered Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and received a B.S. in Accounting in 1973, and a Juris Doctor - J.D. from the L.S.U. Law Center in 1976. He began his career at Associated Grocers in 1972 while in undergraduate school at LSU. He served in various management capacities including Controller, CFO, COO, and Internal Legal Counsel before serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Associated Grocers, Inc. from February 1, 1995, until May 31, 2015 (over 20 years). Then he was the Executive Chairman, until his retirement in March of 2017. He is currently the Manager of Client Consulting Services, LLC. (Length of service with Associated Grocers, Inc. – 45 years). He has served and continues to serve on many non-profit and for-profit organizations’ Boards of Directors or Trustees and in various leadership roles. He has received many acknowledgments for his service. He enjoys golf and other forms of exercise and continues to do public speaking to corporate, industry, youth, and professional groups and enjoys mentoring.
